About Us

The Lomira Quad/Graphics Community Library has been a part of the community since 1938. We are a member of the Monarch Library System. We are a public, free library. The “Quad/Graphics” in our name is in honor of the great help Quad/Graphics provided when we built our new library in 2011.

Library Board of Trustees

Library Board of Trustees

Overview

The Lomira Quad/Graphics Community Library Board of Trustees is the legal governing body for our library. Three of the six Trustees are appointed by the Village of Lomira President and one Trustee is appointed by the Town of Lomira Chair. One member represents the school district and one member represents the Village of Lomira Board.

A library board is charged with serving all members of our communities equitably, and is composed of members with varying backgrounds and perspectives that contribute to the success of a library.

Responsibilities

Our Board of Trustees develops essential library policies, establishes the annual budget, and hires the library director. Its operations are bound by open meeting laws. Trustees are charged with protecting and advancing the interests of the broader community by effectively governing the operation and promoting the development of the local public library.

Board Meetings

The Board of Trustees meets monthly on the third Monday at 6:00 pm.

Apply for Board Membership: Please complete the “Application for Board of Trustees Membership” in the “Signups and Forms” section of this website in the “About the Library” tab. The Library Director maintains a file of interested party applications for future openings.

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library

Under the direction of the Library Board of Trustees and the Library Director, The Friends of the Lomira Library exists to support library activity and material needs which fall outside tax-payer funded operational expenses.

The Friends group is a separate, not-for-profit entity which, among other things, sponsors programs, holds fund-raisers, and “shops” for fun things the library requests. Meetings are held quarterly.
